Louise Crabb’s intricately detailed paintings express her love of animals and the natural world. She draws on an eclectic range of influences, from 17th century Dutch still life paintings to folk art.
Every piece combines observation from life with the imaginary, with intricate compositions that express her love of pattern and colour. Working in acrylic or gouache, she creates paintings where animals peek out from behind thickets of plants, some unusual and exotic.
Louise studied at Camberwell College of Art in London, graduating in 2013 with a BA in painting. She lives and works in West Somerset.
